Hello, and welcome to my website!
I'm John Albright, L.Ac., and it is my privilege to solely own and operate Albright Acupuncture, LLC. Acupuncture is my absolute passion, and I love spending the time to get to know and truly understand my patients. Crafting customized treatment plans by learning how each patient came to be who they are, I aid in your transition to a more healthful future. Based upon my fundamental mentality that “true healing happens from within,” I believe the wisdom of Chinese medicine and philosophy is an excellent tool with which to re-align oneself to healthy lifestyle decisions and get you back on track to achieve your full potential!
In 2013, I received my Masters degree in acupuncture from The Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, in Gainesville, FL. Before this, I graduated from Athens Academy in 1998, then completed a bachelors degree in Studio Art from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia, in 2002. All my life, I've passionately sought to collect enlightened perspectives from around the globe, by book and by travel, so that I may share our collective wisdom and enrich our community. I am humbly aware that I stand on the shoulders of giants. Along the way, I learned the ancient healing art of acupuncture and brought it back to my hometown, Athens. GA! I currently live about 30 minutes south of Athens in Greensboro, GA, with my wonderful wife, Kristine, my consistently amazing son Maddox, as well as our three rascally dogs, Ginkgo, Fizzle, and Chaco, and our two cool cats, Shrimp and Grits!
Treating a broad spectrum of ailments is the nature of ‘holistic’ alternative medicine, in which no single symptom can be isolated and viewed apart from the whole. Simply put, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. So, I adhere to Root and Branch theory, also known as Ben/Biao method, which is a principle of diagnosis and treatment that differentiates between the underlying cause (the root or Ben) of a disease and the resulting symptoms (the branches or Biao). The goal is to treat both: address immediate symptoms to provide relief (the branch) while also addressing the fundamental issue to prevent recurrence and achieve lasting health (the root). Through this holistic and highly individualized approach, acupuncture can help with a broad range of imbalances, including but not limited to arthritis, pain management, migraines, lower back pain, menstrual and post-menopausal difficulties, tendonitis, anxiety/stress/emotional disorders, pharmaceutical side-effects, hyper/hypo-thyroidism, the common cold, flu, PTSD, gastritis, etc… I specialize in 5-Element Acupuncture, a style rooted in in ancient Taoist philosophy, a holistic approach to healing that views the body, mind, and spirit as interconnected and influenced by the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. It aims to restore balance and harmony within these elements, rather than focusing on symptom relief. As Root-Branch(Ben Biao) theory asserts, I focus on the health of the spirit: theorized to be the basis of mental and physical health.
Send me a message, and I'll be more than happy to tell you anything else you'd like to know.
Thanks for visiting…and have a great day. : )
